Turn, Turn, Turn:
Considering Changes and Transitions in our Lives
Like Duxbury Bay, where we’ll gather for the Lumunos October Women’s Retreat, life ebbs and flows. And the season will be changing, too, from late summer to early fall. So many metaphors at hand to describe change – whether we choose it or it’s thrust upon us. Join us as we consider what we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and what The Byrds turned into the popular song that inspired this retreat title – that “for everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” The list of possible purposes is long and varied – to plant, to harvest, build up, break down, weep, laugh, lose, keep. You get the idea. We’ll make simple collages and read fiction to help us reveal what season we’re in and what we might want to take from it.
As with all Lumunos retreats, you can expect:
-
Time away to unplug and renew in a seaside setting;
-
Meaningful conversation with other women;
-
Exploring through art and fiction the transitions in our lives;
-
Moments to reflect on scripture and make connections with our spiritual lives.
