Physician Well-Being

We have entered into a danger zone for physician wellness. Today’s physicians are being asked to treat more patients in less time, deal with electronic medical records, and adapt to a rapidly changing health care environment, all while making less money. Physicians are also being required to participate in integrated delivery systems that require more congeniality and with more collaboration than ever before. How can today’s doctors expect to thrive and deliver excellent patient care?

The truth is many are not. These challenges are having a tremendous consequence on health care delivery across the board. In a recent study published by the Mayo Clinic, it was concluded that burnout and satisfaction with work-life balance in US physicians worsened from 2011 to 2014. More than half of US physicians are now experiencing some degree of professional burnout.

The purpose of a Lumunos Physician Colleagues™ Program is to conduct meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences for physicians in a hospital setting – to encourage personal psychological, spiritual and physical well-being, and balance between their medical practices and lives at home.

We help physicians remember why they wanted to become physicians in the first place. See how we work with physicians here.
