Call is for all people, and it is about more than career. It is about what we say yes to and what we say no to on a weekly basis. It is about where we give our time and energy, including work, relationships and volunteer efforts. It can be about big things—should I leave this job or commit myself to that person? But also about smaller things—how do I spend my precious free time this weekend, or what kind of purchases I make.

In one sense, it is all about us—who we are, what we care about, what our gifts are. But it is also about the world, and God’s vision for it. Lumunos believes that the more people seek to listen for God’s call, the better the world becomes.

Doctors who feel called to their work are better doctors; volunteers doing what they do out of a sense of call are more effective and energized; moms and dads are better with their kids when parent in a spiritual way.

Listening for call is simply about seeking to hear and respond to God’s presence in the fullness and complexity of our lives. It is simply that, but it is not simple.
