Tiffany Montavon, Emerging Program Coordinator

Tiffany MontavonIn Tiffany’s own words…

How does your work at Lumunos allow you to shine your light?

Whether it’s a brief half-day workshop on living justly, or a contemplative soul walk, or a two night residential retreat for couples, or a nurturing day for Moms—I believe Lumunos offers sacred space where people can meet the Holy—which changes lives. This is my personal call; and I get to act on it through Lumunos events.

In what ways do you contribute to Lumunos?

I create teams for leading Lumunos retreats and co-create the Journeying e-News.

What's your favorite part of your job?

Co-creating Journeying e-news, co-leading events, encouraging team development for event leadership teams.

What past job has most prepared you for your work at Lumunos?

Director of Student Activities and Greek Affairs at Hanover College IN. My work included working in teams, creating communal, educational, fun, intentional events, mediating between the Thetas and the Deltas (sororities). I had responsibility for keeping the mission of the small Presbyterian liberal arts college in the forefront of all activities. My goal was to experientially educate in all we did.

How do you live your call in the world?

My personal mission statement is to live in such a way as to draw others close to the Holy. I believe that is—at its best—what happens at a Lumunos event.

When you are not working, what one thing lights up your world?

I’ve always been a “nature girl”—collecting flowers, hiking, talking to trees. For the past 11 years I have gone weekly to walk along the banks of the Potomac River. This replenishes my body, mind and spirit. I’ve learned our local flora and fauna, and am becoming a VA master naturalist to offer this learning to others.
